Class

60 minutes
Whether you are a beginner gardener or an old farm hand, we hope you'll join us for this hour long workshop. Gardener expert Rosy Smit can answer questions related to food crops (grown on all scales; from containers on your deck, to raised beds and in-ground rows!), berries, fruit trees, and ornamental house plants too! The workshop will follow a question/answer format, so bring your questions!

Also attending the workshop will be Rosy's flock of chickens (mostly in the background), so she's happy to answer questions about hobby chicken-keeping too. Her flock consists of 11 different breeds, including a rooster that looks like a fluffy teddy bear. If you don't have garden questions, attend to watch the comical behavior of the flock!

Instructor

Rosy Smit is passionate about creating agents of change in the food system. As a 7th generation farmer, with degrees in Agro-ecology and Soil Science and with 15 years of organic farming and food system education under her belt, she has a knack for getting children, youth and adults alike excited about food production and farming. Rosy is currently staying busy homesteading at home, tending to lambs, chickens, veggies, fruit trees and berry bushes on 3.5 acres in Woodinville.
